Sunnylea

Sunnylea is what I call a feel-good neighbourhood.

It’s a stable neighbourhood, lots of its residents have been living here for decades. No wonder: great accessibility to the highway to downtown, nice, environment make inhabitants very loyal to this area.

Its proximity to the Bloor Street shopping area and the subway station makes Sunnylea a very popular area also for those seeking a new home.

The post-war, mock-Tudor bungalows built in the late 1940s that are characteristic for this neighbourhood give Sunnylea a very nice feel. You can also find two-storey detached houses in this area.

The best kept secret in Sunnylea is a French restaurant called Merlot (2994 Bloor St. W.), an ideal place for a brunch. My other personal favourite  is Creme de la creme Cafe (2991 Bloor Street West).

And  if you want to taste the best ice cream in town, be sure to visit Tom's Dairy Freeze (630 The Queensway), this fifties-style, retro ice cream takeout place.
