The Kingsway – Humber Valley
As I used to live in this neighbourhood, I can tell you what I loved about The Kingsway - Humber Valley area.
This is a neighbourhood where one can find a number of beautiful parks. I was happy to have so much green space around me, foxes used to run literally through my backyard. No wonder people living here take great pride in their gardens, as this is a very leafy area.
Although most of this neighbourhood is farther from the subway lines, it’s still well-served by public transit buses.
This is a family-oriented neighbourhood, center of many attractions, to name but a few: the Humber Valley Skating Ring, the Toboggan Hill, or the Humbertown Shopping Centre, a place providing delicacy shopping rather than just fashion stores.
In the Kingsway area of this neighbourhood Tudor and English-style homes were built in the early 19th Century by developer Robert Home Smith. He had specific high standards, and these Smith Homes are being renovated and preserved.
In other areas, such as Humber Valley, Evenbridge, Chestnut Hills, houses were built and marketed in the fifties, mostly for executives. One can find larger, detached homes here.
And finally, let me give you the best kept secret of this neighbourhood: for me it’s Lenny's Panini & Pizza (4748 Dundas Street West), the best lasagna takeout I know in town.
